Pčelica Dana / Zmaj Children Games


You can see the ‘Pčelica Dana’ opera for children, performed by ‘Visoko C’ association in the Rumenka Cultural Station on Monday, 21 June, at 2 p.m. The play will be implemented within 64. Zmaj Children Games.

The story follows the bee Dana, who, along with her friend, the faithful butterfly Šarko, works hard all day. There is also the ladybug Mara, their old acquaintance, who is the joy of all children.

The plot arises when the bumblebee Beda appears and kidnaps the honey. The butterfly Šarko comes to the rescue, who together with the ladybug Mara defeat the bumblebee Beda. Realizing that he was wrong, the bumblebee Beda admits the mistake and in the end, everyone sings about happiness, a beautiful day, nature and the bee Dana who gathers them around.

The opera for children ‘Pčelica Dana’ was composed by Petar Jovanović, and it was performed for the first time in 1987 in Zaječar. The adaptation of the text, the new concept and the direction of the work were done by Branislav Cvijić. The ‘Visoko C’ association included this work in its repertoire mostly because of the cheerful and gentle theme. The opera carries the message that we can overcome unhappiness and failure with diligence.
