Language Fosters People

Rumenka Cultural Station will mark the Slavic Literacy Day on Monday, 24 May. Join us and watch the ‘Language Fosters People’ show and exhibition, which will be broadcast at 10 a.m. on the official Rumenka Cultural Station Facebook Page.

Students of the ‘Jovan Jovanović Zmaj’ Grammar School who will participate in the show are: Georgije Mrkić (solo singing), Teodora Tomanović (recital), Aleksa Ognjanović (acoustic guitar), coordinator Jasmina Pivnički, Ph.D., and special guests.

The Slavic Literacy and Culture Day is traditionally celebrated on 24 May in memory of Cyril and Methodius, missionaries, cultural and political diplomats, creators of the first Slavic alphabet. That day is a holiday in the entire Slavic world, and since 2019, it has been celebrated in our country as well.
